ENGAGE: Prayer & Worship - Pray for the Lou / 3.14

ENGAGE is a regular gathering of the Chatham body focused on worship and prayer. While we usually meet on Sunday evenings, in the month of March we'll participate in a Saturday event called Pray for the Lou.

What is Pray for the Lou / 3.14?

Pray for the Lou, also referred to as 3.14, is an event with the goal of prayer walking all 79 neighborhoods in the City of St. Louis at the same time on the same day. Churches from the County and all over our region are encouraged to join in. Learn more at PrayfortheLou.org.

Why is Chatham joining Pray for the Lou?

Unity with other churches remains a priority at Chatham. PFTL follows 10 Days of Prayer as a continuation of uniting churches and prayer movements in the St. Louis region. Kurt Wilson, who spoke at our Unity Sunday service, is heading up this movement. This will also be our ENGAGE prayer event for March.

Where will we pray?

Chatham will prayer walk in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood, which is just alongside the city of Wellston in St. Louis County where our church was once located on Chatham Avenue. This will be followed by a worship celebration with all 79 prayer walking groups in a different city location.

What and how do we pray?

We’ll have a prayer guide to help us as we pray in and for Hamilton Heights. You can see the guide here.

When is Pray for the Lou?

Pray for the Lou happens on Saturday, March 14, or 3.14, which is also our St. Louis area code.

At 10 a.m. we'll meet at New City Fellowship West End, 1142 Hodiamont Ave, St. Louis, MO 63112, to prayer walk north into the Hamilton Heights neighborhood.

Then at 1 p.m. those who prayed in all 79 neighborhoods will unite together for a closing worship celebration directly on the Delmar Divide at the Cardinal Ritter College Prep Football Field, 701 N. Spring Ave., St. Louis, MO 63108. This location also includes available street parking and restroom access.

How will we get there?

We’ll meet at Chatham that morning, departing at 9:30 a.m. We plan to take the bus and/or carpool as needed.

What should I bring?

Bring any necessities, but we recommend travelling light. This is a rain or shine event, so be sure to dress for the weather. Since the event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., you may also wish to fast during this time or bring food with you. We are not planning to stop for lunch.

Do I also need to register at PrayfortheLou.org to attend on 3.14?

We’re already registered as a church, so there’s no need to register again on their website. You can let us know you're praying with us by signing up on Realm or contacting the church office.
