Over the course of 11 weeks this fall, we will work through the book of Judges using a study by Jen Wilkin. In this study, we'll see the people of Israel inhabiting the Promised Land and walk through the days from the time of Joshua to the period of the kings, when “everyone did what was right in their own eyes.” In this time, God raised up judges to deliver His people from oppression and guide them in times of trouble. We will, however, see people behave badly all the way through, as the cycle of sin spirals further and further out of control. To be honest, we will see some terrible examples of faith. But we need this book for several reasons, perhaps most significantly because we need to see how bad the bad news is so we can see how sweet and good the good news is of our true and better Deliverer—the Lord Jesus Christ.
